When the Shadowcat first debuted in 2021, it took the place of a beloved Pivot model – the Mach 5.5. The new name spoke directly to the effort put into the bike’s design: it’s a whole new animal. Lightweight, with best-in-class standover height, refined geometry, and shock tune that favors well-rounded riding, efficient pedaling, and skills development, the Shadowcat particularly shines for riders on the Small and SX frame sizes. The 27.5″ wheels spin up fast, and the wheelbase makes this bike one of the most maneuverable options in our fleet; it loves tight turns and skinny single track. We feel comfortable calling the Shadowcat an ideal, classic trail bike.
