The Trailcat SL more obviously resembles its predecessor the Trail 429, with 140 mm front travel and 120 mm rear travel, and a 66-degree head tube angle. The LT and the SL have the same front and rear triangles and lower dwlink. The distinct ride characteristics of each bike are achieved through different upper links, different shock lengths, and a flippable lower shock tab mount. Both bikes are snappy, responsive, and confident. If you’re compelled by the word “snappy,” lean toward the SL. If you’re more compelled by the word “confident,” lean towards the LT. Either way, both Trailcats boast the iconic Pivot ride quality we know and love.
