The Chimney Run: A Guided Bikepacking Overnight
June 3 @ 3:00 pm - June 4 @ 1:00 pm$110.00
Adventure season begins officially on the first weekend of June: we’re celebrating the Adventure Cycling Association’s Bike Travel Weekend with our first Chimney Run!
Together with our exclusive adventure partner – Legend Ridge Guides – we invite a group of up to 18 riders to pack up for a night in Sunset, Colorado. This is a great opportunity to break out your bikepacking gear, or load up for the first time. Join us to connect with other bikepacking enthusiasts for ACA’s Bike Travel Weekend. Registration is $110/rider.
Included in our backyard bikepacking party:
- Certified professional guides
- Pre-ride bicycle safety check at Sports Garage
- Dinner cooked over the campfire
- Craft beer from Upslope
- Pre-ride 15% discount on parts, accessories and gear from SG
- On-course mechanic and emergency transport
We will pedal from Sports Garage to Gold Hill via the Switzerland Trail and camp at the chimney in the abandoned railroad town of Sunset. As the sun goes down (the town was named Sunset for a reason), kick back and drink some beer while Legend Guides prepare a dinner over the campfire. On Sunday morning, following breakfast, the group will explore more of the high country gravel around Gold Hill before rolling back down to Boulder. Total mileage for the weekend is approximately 60 miles.
You will find a general recommended gear list here on the SG Gear Guides. Seatpacks and handlebar rolls are available for rent from Sports Garage for $45/set. This route will be appropriate for either gravel bikes or mountain bikes. Once you have confirmed your registration, you will receive more specific communication about gear and packing.
