Working closely with their professional teams Euskaltel-Euskadi, Kelly Benefit USA, Andalucía Cajasur, and Orbea Continental, Orbea completely redesigned their proven Orca platform in 2011 resulting an a frame that out rides and out performs.  

Constructed from Orbea's blend of ultra-high modulus carbon fiber, the Orca Gold's monocoque design has the highest stiffness to weight ratio in their Gold, Silver and Bronze line-up.  And because the bike was designed in conjunction with Orbea's AIZone (Aerodynamic Investigation Zone) project in the San Diego Wind Tunnel, it features completely unique tube shapes for a functionally aerodynamic frame that has 14% less drag than its predecessor.  Taking it a step further, Orbea incorporated their SSN (Size Specific Nerve) technology into the new Orca by using optimized tube sizes and carbon layups for each individual frame size.  From a 51cm to a 60cm, each Orca Gold frame rides exactly like it was engineered to.  

Also built into the new Orca's design is Orbea's Attraction concept - A twist in the carbon layers near the drop outs in the seat stays and fork.  Minimizing high frequency road vibrations while maximizing traction and power transfer, the Attraction design offers a faster ride with increased control.

Overall, the bike is bred for speed while providing the cleanest ride quality available in a high performance monocoque design.  It's razor sharp and as mean as you are.
