It comes in the form of the 2012 Pivot Mach 429, a bike and company that have been flying just below the radar… until now. In response to her critics, the Mach 429 lost an impressive ½ pound, and converted to a 142X12mm rear through axle. These changes coupled with a direct mount front derailleur for crisper shifting, a position sensitive anti-squat DW link, and custom tuned Adaptive Logic RP23 Fox shock are going to give you the confidence to pin on a number this year or at least get your friends singing that high pitched weezy song called “slow down I can’t keep up”.  It pedals like your old hardtail, but opens up wide when the trail points downhill.
